holy graffiti

said in many forms

colors, words, touch

indefinable and borderless

yet often pushed into a mold

If I scream my love for you from the mountaintops

and you whisper soft secrets when the tired sun rests her head

Who, then, does God love more?

The answer, of course, is both

Love is above all reasoning

Love travels in the foreign tongue

on the lonely roads

in the confused and hateful

Love pierces through generations and towns

heavens and gods

and stars

Spray your words of love on me

paint me with your light

behind the scenes

This was based on a fifteen-minute writing prompt.  I was asked to write about if graffiti was tolerable if it tagged biblical scripture.  I didn’t have any prose to produce, so I jotted down this poem.
