if you were a cigar

Posted on Saturday, July 28, 2012

if you were a cigar
your pull would be strong
finish, forever lingering

my lips would soften
growing wetter at the very thought
of holding you with my tongue

on lonely nights, I would put you in my purse
set you on a velvet chair
and slowly undress you

you would not symbolize wealth or money
your desire would be much, much greater

and when I yearned for you in the night
my fingers would hold your fragrance
until we met again
