How do you cry?  Is the Kleenex box empty and the trashcan full?  Do you put your whole body into your sobs?  Is your face painted with streaks of black?  Whether gut-wrenching sobs or trickles of tiny tears, when you cry you transform; literally your body changes.  “When you’re upset and stressed, you have an imbalance and build up of chemicals in the body and crying helps to reduce that,” says Dr. Abigael San, a chartered clinical psychologist.  How often do you try to bottle up our stress?  Can you feel your body yearning to release some of this imbalance?

a ‘chai’ of a life

I’m beginning to think my Peet’s Yin Hao Jasmine Green tea is becoming a bit angry with me, or at least I’ve hurt its feelings.  More and more these days, I’m trading my beloved Chinese Green tea, full of grassy notes and delicate jasmine blossoms for the rich, exotic flavors of Indian chai.  Thanks to A Curry of a Life, my source and teacher for traditional Indian Chai, I’m completely addicted.  Colleen, the main culprit of my conversion, mischievously giggles.  She takes great pleasure in her encouragement for chai addiction for many, knowing I’m one of those extreme addicts.

i’ve spent a year away from facebook and people still like me

Facebook.  For me a love, a hate.  The debates are everywhere.  Bashers eagerly point their fingers to facebook as a culprit to cheating and divorce, time spent searching virtual profiles is time away from concrete friends and family, and the list goes on.

But what keeps people coming back?  Clearly, facebook reaches hundreds, thousands, and millions of viewers daily.  It changes lives.  It reconnects lovers.  It seals career deals.  It allowed me to spread the news about a volunteer trip to Guatemala and collect thousands of dollars in donations.
